I read this post by Amy from Pay Attention, Be Astonished before Christmas. I really liked it and thought I’d that have a go at something like it myself. The results are below. They’re rather more self-excavating than I thought they’d be, and also now I’m wondering whether this is just the absolute acme of navel-gazing (my version, not Amy’s, which is charming). But I found it interesting to write. Anyway - SHOULD you be interested: 66 things I know about myself, behind the paywall because obviously the more intimate stuff always is. 1. I like being home by 10pm latest. Ideally 9.

2. I'm too messy to wear white and shouldn't even try.

3. I don't actually like parties all that much. But I really love the idea of them, and the getting dressed.

4. I absolutely hate making plans in advance. It makes me feel pinned down and claustrophobic. How could I possibly know what I'll feel like doing on a random Tuesday in a month's time?

5. I have enough navy blue jumpers.

6. I bore easily in company but never on my own.

7. I am shy. I have learned to appear convincingly un-shy over the decades, but I am shy.
