Here’s what I do, on the off chance that it’s fun to look at, or that it makes you feel like trying something that’s new to you. There are tons of pics of my house in this one, so the post might chop off in email, in which case have a look on the web or use the app instead.
Also 99% of these pictures weren’t intended for public consumption, so excuse the random bits of crap in the backgrounds. Nothing is styled, to state the obvious - it’s just my house in its usual lived-in state.
I like Christmas to feel warm, super-nostalgic and intensely cosy. If you like a strict theme, or if you’re a minimalist who loves a white room and a dramatic twig with one sculptural porcelain bauble, this post is probably not going to be for you. Having said that, these ideas can be adapted into whatever colours and level of understatement you like.
For me Christmas isn’t about being ‘tasteful’ or ‘classy,’ both words that give me hives at the best of times. It’s meant to feel like - well, like home.
