Here are some things I think would make good Christmas presents. There will be more over the coming weeks (I’ve also written a piece about presents for this week’s Sunday Times Style).

A teddy with a kind face
When I was little someone gave me a hard-bodied teddy with mean eyes. I had to force myself to like it because I loved the person who gave it and not liking the teddy would have felt disloyal. The stress! By contrast, the teddy above, which comes in medium, large and huge, seems to me the perfect teddy - friendly, squishy and extremely kind-eyed. Also optimal nose, ears, paw and body shape situation. The kind of teddy a small child would love forever.
