Hello! Everyone’s Substack posts are so energetic and zippy. I only really unfurl properly in March.
At the moment any speck of spare time is spent on the sofa/in the bath with seed catalogues. My faves include this one, this one and obviously this one, plus this one for veg. Two more favourites are online only - this outstanding one for veg and here for flowers (he also writes really helpful, hand-holding growing guides that are particularly good if you’re low on confidence and don’t have a ton of kit or space - he lives on a barge, grows his ravishing flowers in buckets and starts them off in plastic storage boxes).
So this post is slightly in slow motion - just a couple of recent observations and a few recommendations, like a written version of pottering about (though that’s pretty much always the definition of this newsletter).
