Should have said: for some reason I was never particularly keen on WH, and (ironically) found it extremely melodramatic even in my melodramatic teens, which were replete with tragic love etc, and have never been tempted to re-read (although I endlessly re-read Jane Austen). So I'm unlikely to see the film, although I'll be interested to read other people's reviews. I thought Saltburn reasonable fun, but very overrated.
So glad you're on the mend. It's not really surprising you went down with something, you'd had a hell of a few months: new book events, sudden semi-unexpected move, fraught movers situation, ridiculously short lead-up to Christmas, and horrible vertigo thing (I hope that's properly gone). With any luck you now get to kick back a bit and luxuriate in lovely new house.
I made the change back to bar soap a few years ago and have never looked back - so much cheaper and nicer! TK Maxx weirdly reliable source of finely milled Italian bars.
Neom happiness my favourite also! Tho my latest has started TUNNELLING chiz chiz chiz
Great reading thanks. Love tulips, went to see snowdrops at Scone Palace today. Love them too. Love soap in a bath always use it ( big bar), with a sponge. Small Prophets brill.
Glad you're feeling better and your writing is just as you as always.
Am obsessed by Winter Olympics and have already decided that I'm going to the 2030 judt to see Illia Mallinin get gold next time. Small Prophets is beautiful.😊
I have loved Valentine’s Day since I was a child, all the pink and red and love, love love! 💕 ❤️ glad you’ve vanquished the germ! Happy Valentine’s Day, India! xx
So glad you're starting down the road to recovery --- could totally relate to your bit about writing as yourself. Hope you feel yourself again soon. :)

Hello dear India, so glad you’re feeling better. Lurg here too. But steak and chips later, after a sunny walk, admiring my red tulips, thanking my lucky stars for love in its many forms. Trip to Town soon to see my daughter and London friends, a ballet, a posh meal for our anniversary, more weight loss hopefully so that by summer I can gad about in gauzy flimsy dresses without a thought. Mostly though - grateful. Close shave ‘twas at times. Here we are happily.
Very pleased you are feeling better and I agree listening to a podcast is a soothing activity when you are feeling below par, a bit like someone is reading to you.
I always enjoy your posts - this week was no exception - it felt gentle, warm and friendly. The Small Kindnesses poem was very comforting and I shall return to that again and again I think. It was good to learn a little of the culture of Puerto Rico too. The sun is shining here in Wales today which is joyful, as we were beginning to turn mouldy 😎

Happy Birthday Nell! Finn and I often think of her and I hope she, and you (lurgy notwithstanding) are thriving x
So sorry you were miserably unwell. Get completely better soon……’get well slowly’ as a nice doctor once said to me!
