Another brilliant post India, thank you 😃. I’m inspired to try most of these recipes. The links you provide are so helpful. How do you manage your time? (seriously I would welcome tips 😂) I am in awe of how much you must think, research, read, cook, garden, source amazing paintings and objects, and of course write so beautifully in a day! (never mind all the other chores and social aspects of life).

Greens! Definitely not my thing. I am team Cakes, Desserts, anything sweet. I wish I liked greens but years of boiled veg will do that to you I guess. I will try one of your recipes for my daughter’s sake and report back. I find if I make/prep the greens first there is more chance they won’t be an after thought. If only desserts

had greens. Love your posts. ♥️

I love almost all greens (no green peppers!), and often cook them Chinese style. But my most green-intensive cooking is sort of green minestrones (i.e. no tomato, which I think is very over-used and which I avoid in soups), winter ones with cavolo nero, chard etc as well as the roots and aliums, and summer ones with all sorts including green beans, courgettes etc as well as copious amounts of home made (in a magimix - life's too short) pesto. Also, Singaporean/Malaysian/Indonesian food - I grew up in the east frequently eating it, and madly crave it a lot of the time, but never try to cook it - I don't really know why. Re the football, I'm nervous but hoping, mainly because it would help the country associate a Labour government with good news. This may be mad, but on the other hand I take my comfort where I can, given the parlous state of American politics!

The creamed spinach sounds delicious. Btw - lucky goats and your floral/vegetable arrangement is inspiring.

Thanks for the heads up on Agak Agak, Singapore is my father’s heritage home and place of childhood visits. Which of course means food memories xx

Loving the greens topic, thank you.

At least 3 times a week I steam a huge crown of broccoli and dress it with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sea salt and have it for lunch. I started doing it when I realised how bad my veg intake was and now it’s my weird little habit. Next stop, dogs in prams and headscarves tied under the chin.

Your weather-related-rage has become quieter and more accepting, India, I think you’re on the other side of the rage curve now. I’m feeling footie-related anxiety on a par with election anxiety. I’m probably really late to this party but when I followed one of your links to the Guardian, I noticed they’ve produced a recipe App.

Nope, I remain in a state of permanent indignant fury. It it carries on much longer I'm decamping to somewhere hot for a bit. Guardian - yes, it's very good - mentioned it in April, Food 12.

As always, just glorious suggestions. I love Meera Sodha. Have you tried her Chilli Tofu? Sublime.

I want to make that orecchiette recipe as soon as is practical. Which means in reality that I’ll make diversions to my planned day in order to grab the necessary bits.

Thank you, India. Smiling thinking about the food suggestions, and how unfailingly you make me smile and want to embrace the sunnier attitude to life. You are sunlit, for sure.

Have a lovely lovely day.

Than you on all fronts! I am VERY familiar with that tofu. Do report back on the orecchiette. I am making them again for dinner.

Orecchiette, goodness! Actual goodness, delivered like it’s not virtuous. Satiated and comforted with mild halo glow all the while. Which is essentially perfect eating. What a cracker. Thank you.

Thank you and COME ON ENGLAND. I don't really follow football - can't believe how emotionally invested I have become.

That orecchiette recipe is next on the list. I’m with you - I grow so many of those leafy greens which look totally the dream in the veg patch, in all colours and incredibly photogenic. Yet am I using them all as much as I’m digging up potatoes and picking strawberries……?! Guilty as charged. So this recipe may be a life-changer, especially with orecchiette, which, at under a euro a packet, I stuff my bags with every time I come back from Italy.

Honestly, it's so delicious, and I hear you re the greens - mine are in veg patch, in pots and scattered in borders. Enough for family of 12. That pasta is so good.

Great recipe recommendations, thank you.

I make a broccoli and tomato lasagne occasionally- I’ve been making it for years, since my children were very small (think it was an Annabel Karmel recipe?) I never look forward to it but then am always amazed by how delicious it is. Occasionally chuck in some feta and spinach if I’m feeling adventurous.
