I love Vuillard and love this painting, which I have never seen before. It is so masterly- the darkness behind the the pelargonium flower and the bright highlight on the saucer of the pot. I missed this yesterday, but it is a very lovely way to start a Monday morning.
That’s my favourite yet, India. I too love domestic portrayals, often sniffed at but that’s the condemner’s loss. Rosamund Pilcher and Miss Read are my solace when things are unbearable. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.
I love your image posts, India, and the eclectic mix of content you share on this platform. It’s a real treat on a Sunday morning when these little nuggets of knowledge drop into my inbox. It’s a bit like having a warm, buttery croissant with my coffee, but without the calories. Thank you.
Bliss, of course. I've been deep in finding out about Les Nabis for some time, as a Great Grandfather painted in Pont Aven at about that time, and we have a splendidly mad photo of him in his studio. I'm looking at the little Turkish stool next to my fireplace which features in it. Hey ho! Off for a walk before work (I know Sunday ....).
This is so lovely 🌺

I love him too and I'm so glad you like this one. He is a genius at light. Arguably even nicer on a Monday morning!
Much nicer! :)
Diesel and the elks! 💖
I know. Best story in months if not years. He's so jaunty and happy!
What a joy to learn of Diesel and how successfully he has ‘rewilded’ himself.
Ha, he has! I love him.
Diesel made my week. Have the best day India.
Thank you and you too. DEAR Diesel.
Diesel the donkey has made my day!
And mine.
Noooo I hadn’t heard about Diesel!!! This is fabulous
It's the best thing ever.
Happy Sunday, India. I am planning to spend it dead-heading in the garden - and then reading . Bliss!
Belated reply but I did much the same!

Miss Read! Had forgotten about Miss Read. Must revisit them.
Couldn't agree more - perfect, uplifting comfort reading.
I love Miss Read too.

What a lovely comparison! I love the idea of providing croissants - thank you 🥐
I did not know about Diesel. Made my day xx
Very glad to have introduced you to him.

Oh wow, how interesting. Again, so annoying that you can't post the photo. Maybe if you worked Sunday you have today off?
I’m going to see if I can put it into a post rather than a note …. No work today (apart from the inevitable WhatsApps and emails …).
Yes please! Emails etc feel so unjust when weather is like this.
