India! What was the mosquito deterrent device you posted? Trawling through old substances and decided easier to reach out…. Flies in garden last night biblical!!
Already desperate to read on. Perfect. Thank you for another fabulous extract. Feeling tired and a little bereft there is no football tonight. Catching up with Wimbledon and finding more joy here through Arthur Fery.
I sympathise with the sleep deprivation, although mine is not due to the football.
Started today at 3.30am - I think my ‘busy brain’ could not detach from yesterday’s failed parcel delivery (yes, a first world problem!). I was so incensed that DPD claimed my parcel had been delivered to my porch - the photo was not my house 🙄.
My frustration escalated as I couldn’t contact either DPD or the sender without an automated ‘your parcel has been delivered’ 😡. Fortunately a very kind lady in the next street contacted the community Facebook page to say she’d had a rogue parcel delivered, and she brought it to my door. The parcel label had only part of my name and address visible….. Have I heard anything from DPD or the sender?!
I’d waited 10 days for this flat linen sheet to arrive (thank you for recommending India) but it didn’t promote sleep last night😂. Maybe tonight will be restful🤞🤞
Being in the states for the World Cup and seeing all the heartening interactions between visitors and residents is so humbling and refreshing. It's like this country was having an awful day and the rest of the world showed up with flowers and champagne and said, "You'll get through this and let's drink this bubbly and dance around the living room and just watch the games!"
Belgium result bliss, as was their post "Overturn this." I sympathise very much with your underslept state - the weather is doing it for me. This too shall pass.
I had ordered (but not yet read) Pineapple Street, so will read that and then get the Shampoo Effect.
I loved The Calamity Club. Fortunately, I started The Shampoo Effect straight afterwards otherwise I’d have been quite at a loss! Love it. I have to look up some of the American terms but it doesn’t detract from the book. Reading it in chunks as I don’t want it to end.
Your book recommendations are the best. Thank you.
@India, M&S have 2 delightful cotton England T shirts. V tasteful: one with block letter in red with trim, one a bit simpler with blue. I wear the white and red one every match day and it is nice enough for work and always raises a smile ❤️
Have no real connection to Belgium - other than being European and having a number of Belgian neighbours and friends - but it was a very satisfying and pleasing result last night!!!
Have ordered the Shampoo Effect, looks a perfect summer read
Great recommendation -I'll read!

Yes, and the absurd Trump dancing. Agree, weather not helping. Thank God for bedroom fan.
Loved Pineapple Street and look forward to this too!
Don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm so glad, thank you! TCC and this afterwards is very good combo.
I’m just going to go ahead and order the book, because your recommendations always work for me, and I loved Pineapple Street.
Am v flattered, thank you!
