Happy Anniversary,I’m reading this over a bowl of White bean soup that you recommended in your Autumn post ,absolutely gorgeous ( I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it ,but it got better with every spoonful ) . I’ve loved reading all of your posts and yes the recommendations of everything I want to purchase x
I realise I am late to the anniversary party but that’s because I tend to save your posts for when I am desperate for a treat/pick-me-up/cheer-me-up (think it’s called delayed gratification and takes some discipline!!) and this week I happen to have been unusually chipper and unusually busy with houseguests so very sorry about being late. Just to say I love your posts (and I would add that I only buy the Sunday Times every week (since forever) for the Style magazine. And I go straight to your page and then have a huge downer if it says you are away….). Congrats and please do keep them coming.
Happy birthday to the highlight of any day when a post appears! It’s lovely that something that brings such pleasure to us also brings pleasure to you too. Long may Home continue - and thank you! xxx
I'm so glad I found you on substacks - reading you once a week on the sunday times wasn't enough, this is way better and right up my street, I love how you talk about art, and bring paintings to our attention and books, all things nice for our homes and tummies. It's cosy and comforting reading your posts. Thank you for bring this to us every week.
Happy birthday Home! My most favourite place for brilliant recommends, thoughtful musings and witty observation: you, together with a bunch of political and life/wellbeing podcasts, are very much essential to my sanity - always look forward to your posts :) x
Happy birthday Home! Thank you India, like everyone else it’s just a highlight when your posts come up. I love what you share and the community you have here. The fact it’s all just so authentic and natural just warms my heart and gives me hope that there a lot of us out there who aren’t interested/ repelled by influencery, contrived content!
Just home having played some awful golf—— enjoying a glass of wine ( as it’s a really nice evening in Ireland). Feeling better already now that I have read your latest post. Large part of conversation with husband is now ‘you must read this’ & him with some exasperation ‘let me guess’ INDIA. Keep going. Lavinia
Pouring rain here too in Toronto! I’m so delighted to be a subscriber. I love the links and the chats and the images and the recipes but mostly I think most of us are here for your very signature voice, India: friendly, funny, nuanced, generous. Happy birthday to HOME❣️
I completely agree on the signature voice, and with the commenter who said she wasn't prepared to do without India's writing. I couldn't do too many subscriptions, already have to read the Grauniad, Times, NYT and WaPo every day, but time has to be made for India!
Thank you so much. It all gets so expensive, doesn't it. I justify my subs to myself on the basis that I no longer buy magazines, but it adds up, Very flattered!
I agree completely with everything everybody else has said, I know I will always have a good time reading Home, and I trust your recommendations implicitly - I always have, since way back in The Shops. I have also bought too many things to mention, but no gardening bag because no garden! I also love the comments. Happy, happy anniversary, India, and long may Home continue.
I honestly look forward to these substacks more than anything else that lands in my in box all week.
They are invariably CHOCCA with that lovely feeling of catching up with a friend who has INSIDER tips on everything...they are gorgeously illustrated, they are both funny and sympathetic AND they are so delightfully CHATTY...thank you so much India. Happy Anni.

Sorry for the appallingly late reply, and I'm so glad about the soup - I make it ALL the time. And thank you so much for your very kind words!
