Thrilled to get a full house tour! Beautiful. We only moved ourselves last year after 2 years of looking - including letter dropping around Suffolk like loons. You have to jump when you “know”. And how exciting … for you and for us… a house move must signal the need for a sequel to your new book! Everything crossed!
What a stunning house! It’s easy to fall slightly in love with a house and the fear of leaving it can be crippling, but I’ve come to realise it’s the people, things and shared memories that turn a house int o a home. We made the (scary) move from South London to Peasenhall a year ago and although it took me a while to settle (I miss young people!) I’m glad we did it now. Like you I believe the stars align, we bought the first house we looked at! Best of luck to you🤞🏻☺️
So looking forward to being on this journey with you. I just cannot get over how beautiful it is, keep looking at the listing. Everything is cartoon boggle-eyes luscious, obviously but the colour on the walls in your kitchen is warm neutral heaven, do you remember what it is?
The one thing to know about them is the website is not brilliant at reproducing the colours properly. But it doesn’t really matter because they’re all amazing
Oh good luck with this. It’s absolutely marvellous. We sold our home of 30 years in April and are currently scrabbling about looking for a new home. The more you love your home, the more important it all is. We saw a beautiful home yesterday (not quite for us but gorgeous) and I ended up talking to owner for ages about Christmas trees and their angels. I’ve developed a theory that people who really get HOME also get trees and vice versa.
Hey, it’s quite a deal that, to date, 62 of us have commented to this news. I’m sure more will follow.
You’re selling the home from which you write Home, and there’s a little bit of us (I mean, obvs, not in some awfully disturbed stalkery creepy way) somehow there in the transaction (maybe not such a good move to tell the prospective buyers that there are so many of us…).
But, one has to be hard-headed about such things. Looks like a sensible move. And, I have no doubt, the new house will be a good proposition. And that you will take ALL OF US with you (the new owners will have to cope).
Conveyancing can be stressful (but actually fascinating: the Law of Real Property captivated me when I first learnt the law, it’s like the most Byzantine, baroque, Austen, Dickensian etc novel), but I’m sure you’ll ensure you stay cool.
No, I totally get that, there IS a little bit of everyone in it. I shall try and stay cool but I don't like this bit when you're just in limbo, waiting for things to happen. I sent you an E White thing btw, via the last post comments.
( I seem to be channeling Birgit Nilsson [always a fave with opera queens] who once replied to prolix Lincoln Kerstein inviting her at bizarre length to sing something or other at the Met with the words: “Busy. Birgit”).

Hahaha, no, I wish it was, how cool would that be?
Just milling about quietly

Oh yes - it took me ages to find it. Cinnamon by Edward Bulmer. Strongest recommend.
Another luxury paint brand for me to obsess over 🧡

Very good theory, now you say it - I think it's true too. And good luck with the scrabbling. Worth it in the end, but so stressful at the time.
A beautiful home. X
Thanks so much!
Good luck for the new chapter!
Thank you!
what a beautiful house, and garden... I bet someone will snap it up very quickly!
I really hope so, and thank you!
